Ria is a Clinical Programmes Manager, Quality Improvement Team, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Chertsey

After qualifying as a diagnostic radiographer at St George's Hospital London in the late 1980s Ria worked at several London teaching hospitals, initially specialising in trauma work (alongside London’s first Air Ambulance Service) and then cardiology.

Since moving away from the clinical environment in 2002, Ria has undertaken a variety of service, general and project management roles across acute and strategic healthcare settings.

For the last 10 years she has worked as a Clinical Programme Manager using the Institute for Healthcare Improvement "model for improvement" methodology to reduce patient harm in many areas across the Trust, including most recently, medication safety.
