Dr Balaji Venugopal (Bala) is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow where he specialises in the management of patients with renal, prostate, bladder, and penile cancers.

Bala completed his higher specialty training at West of Scotland deanery and was awarded Doctorate in Medicine by University of Glasgow for his research on optimising drug delivery.

Bala is an honorary clinical senior lecturer at the University of Glasgow and is a principal investigator of pivotal practice changing clinical trials. Bala is also a member of the NCRI Renal Systemic Treatment Subgroup and has advised NICE and SMC as an expert clinician. Bala sits in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Thrombosis committee as regional representative for oncology and has recently drafted the guidelines on management of cancer associated thrombosis.
